Self Branding

I decided to rebrand myself, and give myself a more organic, simple, sleek, and environment friendly look. I wanted to be able to do all my packaging and cards in an ecofriendly way, that would help me use recycled paper and no printing.  I thought hand stamping my business cards was a great idea, so i decided to design my logo in a way that would resemble a stamp. I use my last name POL to brand my work. I use the arrow heads as symbols to project my direct and simple design style.

This is the image that the stamps will have.
P.s. I'm gonna have to order new stamps because i forgot to include my website in the info side.

I ordered the rubber stamps from www.simonstamp.com (they are amazing) and i initially also ordered some white ink. I bought recycled paper blank business cards from keaftoutlet.com (they have an amazing selection of paper! Highly recommended) Here is the first test run

Then i also ordered and embossing stamp with my logo and recycled paper cd sleeves from www.guidedproducts.com

And some black ink i got on sale at joann.com

This is a shot of what i have so far :) all hand stamped!

I have the stationary designed already gonna have to print that its the only way to go about it.... I will post progress when im done with it

A good note to start with

I decided to start blogging so I could document my design/cooking/and life experiences. Hopefully I do a decent job at it, it's my first attempt at ever making something like this. As a child I was never able to keep up with a journal, I always kind of forgot about it and neglected it after a couple of entries. However since my profession requires me to constantly be in the computer and web, frequent blogging might be a more attainable goal for me... Or at least, let's hope so.

Since this is my first post, I would love to make it about the most amazing thing that has happened to me in a long, long time. (probably since sometime in my childhood). After a wonderful year and seven months, I asked my best friend to marry and she said YES! I never really believed in marriage , or in any of the thoughts and traditions behind it, but I guess everything tends to change when you finally meet the right person. I ordered her ring early in September, and I was planning on proposing in December since we are going to New York from the 16-23rd. I thought, perfect season since she loves the winter, super romantic, and close to the holidays so it would make it that much more meaningful. But when the ring finally arrived (after a somewhat bitter experience with Zales -thatt ended up working in my advantage at the end) the impulse of proposing right away was unstoppable. At that point I started thinking about the simplicity of our relationship and how the moments we truly treasure were those spent in lucid, effortless intimate moments. All of a sudden the whole New York thing felt kind of off. I am also a sucker for surprising and unforeseeable situations, so I realized that a proposal in New York was extremely predictable since it was our first big trip (and to be entirely honest I just couldn't wait to ask her to be mine forever). So after all this turmoil in my head, I decided to propose the same day I got the ring, in well the way I usually do things, simple, cheesy and romantic. She did not see it coming at all, which made the moment that much more unforgettable evenr.

So, this is exactly what went down. Since i received the notification that the shipment had arrived to my local Zales store i was a nervous wreck. Needless to say I cried on the way to the store, and while picking it up. I was extremelly overwhelmed with emotions. After picking it up and waiting for her to get home I put the ring in my book bag that I usually carry around, so she didn't suspect anything. I figured that instead of a romantic dinner we could get her favorite fast food (Arby's) which is something we do often, and it wouldn't make the day look out of the ordinary. I told her we could eat it at Amelia Eartheart Park since I had a schedule UPS pick up between 7-730pm. We got to the park at around 620 I had to come up with something fast. We sat down by a dock overlooking the lake and we engaged on conversation, while i tried to take videos of her (something I do often lol) but this time I wanted to do it so I could get the proposal recorded. After having her tell me to stop a million times I asked her if we could take a pic together since we hadn't taken one in a while, and after both of us taking a couple of shots with iphones, I switched mine to video mode :) (I was like YESSSSSSSSSS). I then asked her to tell me how much she loved me, while I was recording this and getting the ring out of the bag with my other hand (this was a bit hard to do!!! lol).... and well the rest is here :) check it out for yourself!!

and of course, since I couldn't continue recording, here's the ring pic (in her beautiful little hand!)
